Ebook About
Emmy Award winner Todd Easterling's 4th book.Over 440,000 words (4 times the average novel).Top 1% in sales (USA). #1 Best Seller & #5 in Movie Tie-In Fiction (Canada; USA). #1 in Medical Thrillers (France). #9 in Technothrillers (USA). #5 in Suspense (Italy).Emmy award winner Todd Easterling, who has worked with HBO and was discovered by the Garon-Brooke Literary Agency of John Grisham fame, takes a big swing with Genetic World--clearly aiming at the religious intrigue reminiscent of the brilliant Dan Brown Robert Langdon series (The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, Inferno, Origin, The Lost Symbol) while looping in the suspenseful science-driven storytelling that was the hallmark of the late great Michael Crichton's work in 1990's Jurassic Park, Jurassic World, and his 1973 film Westworld and recent HBO series. When Oxford professor Francesca Ferrari is invited to a press conference and VIP presentation by the world's two richest individuals--billionaire brothers Winston McCarthy and Ethan McCarthy--she is soon swept into the bizarre world surrounding their creation of Genetic World, the most innovative theme park and science R&D center in the world. Francesca is a renowned expert in ancient religions, iconography, soteriology--the study of salvation--and eschatology, the study of the "end of times." She and her longtime friend and acclaimed New York Times reporter, Sawyer Clemens, are asked by one of the brothers to investigate a highly sensitive recent archeological discovery--a controversial discovery which acclaimed real-life Oscar-winning film director James Cameron executive produced a documentary on.Francesca and Sawyer sort through a series of clues that lead them to Jerusalem, Rome, Vatican City, Florence, and Paris. Eventually they uncover a discovery that will change history. They soon determine that Genetic World's billionaire founders have conflicting objectives for the theme park and R&D center, all of which is located on four real-world islands off the coast of San Diego and northern Mexico . . . essentially sovereign territory not under the control or laws of any country. One brother is intent on creating an educational and entertainment park that rivals Disney World and all other amusement parks--including fictional theme parks such as Jurassic Park and Westworld. The other brother has been up to activities that push the boundaries of ethics and science. As with stories by Dan Brown and Michael Crichton, Genetic World was made for the reader who likes learning about history and technological advances while being entertained--a balance of thorough research and 'made for the big screen' spectacular scenes all combined in an intricately created and sophisticated narrative arc that connects to real-world history, ancient prophecies, and recent technological advances. From robotics and AI, to biotechnologies and de-extinction, Genetic World will expose you to advances which weave in and out of historical events surrounding the lives and legends of the world's greatest people to have lived--scientists, discoverers, artists, writers, entertainers, athletes, leaders and other influential people. The history is real. The locations are real. The science is real.Welcome to Genetic World . . . where nothing can go wrong. Enjoy your visit.Highest Best Seller rankings to date:#5 Movie Tie-Ins, USA#9 Technothrillers, USA#1 Medical Thrillers, France#5 Suspense, Italy#1 Movie Tie-Ins, Canada#3 Genetics, USA#1 Religious Mysteries, USA"A suspenseful high concept story with profound observations on historic events and technological progress that may challenge what you've been taught about how we got here and where we are going . . . a story that touches on the nature of human greatness, illusion of differences, and the fragility and preciousness of all life on Earth. The increasingly high-consequence scenes, surprising climax, and touching conclusion are spectacular." (The Los Angeles Times).

Book GENETIC WORLD: The next step beyond Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code, and Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park and West World Review :

“Genetic World,” as the description states, is aimed squarely at the same readers who love author Dan Brown’s novels (Angels & Demons, The Da Vinci Code, The Lost Symbol, Inferno, Origin). For the reader or movie-goer who liked The Da Vinci Code, especially, much of the storyline and history covered in Genetic World will be particularly fascinating. The lead protagonist is an Oxford professor . . . essentially a female “Robert Langdon.” The novel also has elements of Michael Crichton’s high concept “on the verge of reality” stories (Jurassic Park, West World, etc.). And fans of “Indiana Jones” movies will likely also enjoy the many scenes in Genetic World in which the protagonists are exploring exciting locations, which I won’t go into detail here (to avoid spoilers). This is one of the longest books I’ve ever read! According to the description, it is over 440,000 words, which Amazon estimates to be the equivalent to 1558 print pages. For comparison, Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code (ebook) is estimated by Amazon to be 496 print pages. So, Genetic World is over three times longer, making it an “epic” novel and longer than most commercial fiction. Another comparison, though a different genre, is Stephen King’s longest book, The Stand. It is shorter than Genetic World! The story’s sophisticated narrative arc moves to not one but several climaxes and a very unexpected conclusion that is very touching. And the ending, the “Epilogue,” brilliantly ties the conclusion of the story to the opening scenes in a very satisfying way. It made me miss Italy and France, especially Paris and its iconic sites.I loved how the sweeping storyline carefully introduces the reader to historical events and cutting-edge technologies, building credibility for what happens later in the story. I can’t even imagine how much research went into this novel! One of the things I liked is that the author switches back and forth between action/suspense scenes and explanatory chapters which highlight history, real people, and science-based information. You feel like you are learning something, and also being entertained. In fact, some of the real-world facts and history blew me away. So much so that I had to go further research some of the information presented, and learn more. I also like how the author created very vivid, atmospheric scenes, describing many exciting locations I’ve traveled to, such as Rome, Florence, Pisa, Paris, Jerusalem, and San Diego. The author is clearly fascinated with history, architecture, and art. And in addition to real-life locations, the author creates an elaborate ‘new world’ that is right up there with Jurassic Park and West World, richly detailed and completely believable (on four real islands off San Diego), but most of the story takes place in exotic foreign locations.Genetic World is a theme park and R & D center which celebrates and honors the greatest people to have ever lived. The theme park is divided into seven sections (Artists Land, Entertainers Land, Writers Land, Scientists & Discovers Land, Athletes Land, Leaders & Politicians Land, Spiritual Leaders Land). The story focuses in on a few key people, and seems to leave the door open for sequels. I am not a religious person, but I was fascinated with some of the information I learned about the history of the Catholic Church, relics, and the evolution of various world religions and deities. Some of this information is absolutely astonishing and changed my perspective in ways I could not have anticipated, and for the better. I also loved learning about some of the most influential people the world has known. For those who want to learn something new and be entertained, I highly recommend Genetic World. If, however, you are offended by fictional stories touching on religion (as with The Da Vinci Code and other Dan Brown novels with religious history or controversies), you should skip this story. But if you are fascinated with history and new information, I think you will find Genetic World very satisfying. My background is in religious studies, and much of what the author describes in Genetic World is taught in seminary school, but most people in such programs don’t discuss such history once out in the real world. I also enjoyed learning about the genetics and robotics/science-related information in the book. To me, the history and topical scientific information in this story is fascinating, and spot on. I hope he writes a sequel, as this story is perfect for a franchise. It is the rare type of book that can change your perspective. The subject matter is perfect for our times and will make you think!
